General Review
Kevin came to R.L. Stevens several weeks after he had been downsized by a major telecom company. His goal was to become a General Counsel within several months. He specifically wanted a sufficient compensation package to enable him to provide a top-notch college education for his two children.
A comprehensive analysis of Kevin’s marketable skills, strengths and weaknesses was undertaken by his RLS consultant. Key industry targets and decision makers were established and given to Kevin. He then developed a targeted resume and a communication strategy that allowed Kevin to focus on his marketable skills; and with the extensive research, provided by RLS, was able to base his efforts on the needs of the companies he targeted. Using a simultaneous multi-channel approach, practice interviews and extensive company research, Kevin landed a Vice President/General Counsel position with a high tech firm.
After intense negotiations and with RLS assistance, Kevin negotiated a $170,000 salary plus 120,000 stock options which two months in his new job were worth nearly $300,000 (Kevin’s new company is currently in merger negotiations). Kevin was thrilled that he was able to find a better job, with better benefits, in such a short period of time...better than his expectations.
